Wild & Crazy Sandwiches
w/ bomb ass ingredients that will make your head spin

Behold three of the boldest, craziest, yet tastiest of sandwiches coming out of the GTFO Kitchen that will turn anyone’s lunch frown upside down.  Say good bye to boring white bread and hello to toasted brioche.  Au Revoir simple grilled cheese sandwich and bon jour to chocolate and brie.  Sweat and tangy your chosen poison?  Then our kimchi and peanut butter sandwich is just the thing you have been waiting for.  It’s time step outside your comfort zone and get creative with some new and unusual ingredients.  Instead of making plain and boring sandwiches, turn them into something Yow-za worthy that will make your mouth want to party all night.

Still need some convincing that these babies are something to try?  Then check out some of our thoughts to consider, if your stomach is feeling queasy and you don’t have the guts to eat these three sandwich beauties.

Kimchi and Peanut Butter – sounds horrifyingly disgusting, however it is surprisingly delicious.  It almost reminds me of a spicy Thai or Korean dish that has a nice blend of sweet and spice.  The fermented kimchi is neutralized by the salty and sweet peanut butter, creating an explosion of tastes in your mouth that are quite enjoyable.  Have a need for extra heat? Top this sucker with a little siracha and feel the buuuuuuuuurn!

PBJ + Dill Pickles – Sweat and tangy is the name of the game with this ultra-weird sandwich combination.  The thing to remember about this sandwich is that the pickles need to be layered between the peanut butter and jelly.  Why you ask?  Not really sure, except that when the ingredients are layered this way, there is a great flavor combination that occurs between the briny pickles, the salty peanut butter and sweet grape jelly.

Brie & Nutella on Toasted Brioche – there is no explanation as to why this sandwich is so good, it just is.   If you do not like this toasty dream of a sandwich, then you are crazy and not allowed in my kitchen.  End of story.

Directions:

Directions for making these sandwiches are pretty straight forward and pretty hard to screw up.  Instead of listing out how to make the simplest of simple sandwiches, I will list out instead how to layer the ingredients to ensure the tastiest of tasty sandwiches ever.

  1. Brie & Nutella on Toasted Brioche:  The thing to remember about this sandwich is to NOT MELT THE NUTELLA IN THE OVEN!  Instead, place the (2) slices of buttered brioche bread on a baking dish (lined with parchment) in a 400-degree oven with the brie slices on top of one layer.  Bake until bread is toasted and brie cheese is melted.  Remove from the over, smear the remaining slice of toast with Nutella and nicely smoosh together.  Cut and serve immediately!
  2. Kimchi & Peanut Butter:  Toast the slices of bread in the toaster.  Remove from the toaster and place 2-3 fork-fulls of kimchi on (1) slice and then smear the peanut butter on the other.  Smoosh nicely together and eat!
  3. PBJ + Dill Pickles: This is basically made like any ole standard PBJ sandwich.  The important thing to remember about this sandwich over is that the dill pickles need to be placed right smack in the middle of the peanut butter and jelly layers.  I don’t know why, but for some reason the salty, briny and sweet flavors blend the best this way.
