Extra Yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I cannot make a chocolate cookie for the life of me.  I don’t know what it is about them, but I have never been able to master the chocolate chip cookie.  So what is a girl to do when she needs to make them?  Call her sister in law Lindsey, and steal her recipe (Whoops! Guilty!).  Lindsey makes the best chocolate chip cookies.  I don’t know what magical baking powers she uses to create them because the recipe is fairly simple, but they are by far, hands down, the best cookies ever (bold statement, but a true statement).

They are probably one of the main reasons why my older brother fell in love with her and decided to put a ring on it.  Her cookies were one of the first things she baked for him when they started dating back in the day.  He came home from seeing her holding a massive bag of them, which he would not share with anyone.  Me being the sneaky person I am and him being plan rude for not sharing (who in their right mind can eat 3 dozen cookies by themselves), I decided to steal one and see if they lived up to the hype he ranted and raved about.

Honest opinion: It was pure cookie heaven.  I am not a big sweet’s person.  I will eat a loaf of bread before a cookie any day, but when it comes to these cookies, one is not enough. There is a perfect marriage of soft cookie center to semi-crispy cookie edge that allows it to melt in your mouth and cause a smile to spread across your face from pure delight.  You can probably add nuts or peanut butter chips to the batter when making them, but let’s get serious, why ruin a good thing.  So what’s the bottom line?  The bottom line is that by making these cookies you will snag a husband with the snap of your fingers…uh yeah right!  The bottom line is that these seriously are the best cookies ever and the perfect recipe to make when you have a party to go to and no dessert to bring.
